Health Services Committee

Committee Goals

• Collect information and data about the health status of LGBTQ+ communities in the Shenandoah Valley.

• Improve community provider knowledge, skill, and confidence in caring for LGBTQ+ patients.

• Build out a strong network of LGBTQ+ affirming providers across the Shenandoah Valley, especially within the larger Augusta Health Medical Center system.

• Act in an advisory capacity for the Center’s growing CHW and Health Fair programs. 

• Become the “go-to” resource for LGBTQ+ people seeking health and wellness information and support.

• Establish strong linkages and partnerships with the Central Shenandoah Health District.

• Assess for current and future programming needs. 

 

Committee Expectations

• Active monthly committee meeting participation (virtual format available)

• 2-5 hours a month of out-of-meeting related work (networking, document review, event participation, etc.)
